SHILLONG: SSA teachers under the Meghalaya SSA School Association have lauded the MDA government’s decision to relax the qualifying marks for the Meghalaya Teachers Eligibility Test (MTET).
Association president Aristotle Rymbai said the teachers had met Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui to seek relaxation in the criteria for SSA teachers appearing in the MTET, including a reduction in the required pass marks.
Responding to the appeal, the government has lowered the qualifying marks for in-service SSA teachers from 90 to 68 out of 150.
The association lauded the government for responding to their long-standing demand and easing the conditions for teachers.
