Shillong, Oct 9: East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivek Syiem, on Wednesday morning rushed to Lum Rumnong, Mawpat, where the body of seven-year-old Kyrshanbor Kharmudai was discovered. The child had gone missing from Nongrah on Wednesday evening.
Speaking to the media, SP Vivek Syiem confirmed that preliminary findings indicate the boy was murdered. “We can confirm this is a case of homicide. A detailed investigation is underway to identify those responsible,” he said.
Kyrshanbor, who had disappeared while playing outside his home, was found dead in a drainage area at Lum Rumnong near NEIGRIHMS earlier this morning. Police teams, along with forensic experts, have collected evidence from the scene, and the post-mortem report is awaited to determine the exact cause of death.
The shocking murder of the young boy has sent waves of grief and anger across Shillong, with authorities assuring that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
