Meghalaya Government is going to install CCTV Cameras in hotspot areas of Shillong where the prevalence of drugs and drug peddlers is more .
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that the project will be implemented on a pilot project basis to monitor the situation.
The Police department has been asked to identify the hot spot areas
He also said that he will ensure installation of CCTV cameras in whichever area where the local Dorbar Shnongs are willing to work with police to crackdown on cases of drugs.
The Government has now also started the process of integrating the data from the integrated Command and Control Centre to handle any situation and incidents in the city.
