The Meghalaya government has yet to fill 55 vacant posts at Shillong College of Engineering, citing the pending approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The institution, which was inaugurated in 2023, requires these positions to be filled to ensure smooth operations. However, recruitment has been delayed as the government awaits AICTE’s clearance. Additionally, the necessary administrative infrastructure must be aligned with AICTE guidelines before the recruitment process can begin.
The delay in staffing is primarily attributed to the need for a properly equipped administrative block that meets AICTE standards. Authorities have assured that efforts are being made to address these concerns to expedite the hiring process.
