After facing pressure from Congress supporters and leaders for less than three months, Congress MDCs announced their withdrawal from the Executive Committee (EC) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on Friday evening.
The National People’s Party (NPP) and the Khasi Hills Democratic Forum (KHDF) have now joined the KHADC, marking a shift in the council’s political landscape.
The Congress’ strength in the KHADC has increased to three MDCs with the inclusion of Jirang MDC Victor Ranee, Ronnie V. Lyngdoh, and Pynshngaiñ N. Syiem.
Making the announcement, PN Syiem confirmed that he has submitted his resignation letter as Deputy CEM to the CEM of KHADC.
