South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai inaugurated development projects worth ₹10.12 crore in Upper Lumparing today.
The initiatives include:
A road project from Wah Shyngiar Lum Dorbar to Lumparing, funded under the Special Plan Assistance 2024 at ₹1.38 crore.
Another road at Lum Dorbar (late Brooming Marbaniang) costing ₹3.2 crore.
A drainage system project valued at ₹91.61 lakh.
Additionally, the Greater Lumparing Additional Water Supply Scheme under AMRUT, worth ₹3.13 crore, and a road project in Madan Laban costing ₹1.77 crore were also inaugurated.
Speaking at the event, Shullai praised the residents of Laban for their cooperation, particularly their willingness to provide land for public projects, unlike other areas where land acquisition issues often hinder development.
