Shillong: The members of the Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO), including its president, Donbok Dkhar, were called to appear in the District and Session Court of East Khasi Hills on Monday, following the expiration of the Anticipatory Bail period today, i.e September 11. However, when speaking to reporters, the president, Donbok refrained from making any comments, especially since the Anticipatory Bail had ended today. He did mention that the Court had upheld its previous week’s order. As of the time of this report, the Court has not issued the ‘Court Order’ yet.
It may be noted that five leaders of HITO, including President Donbok Dkhar, Wanbun N Dkhar, Shaniah S Nongrum, James Lyngdoh Nongpyiur, and Gary S Myrboh, were granted Anticipatory Bail by the Additional Session Judge in connection with the Mob Attack near the SBI Main Office on G.S Road in September.
According to the previous order of the Additional Session Judge, members of HITO were instructed to provide statements to the police officer and cooperate fully regarding the Mob Attack. Another Court hearing is scheduled for today.
