Shillong: One person identified as Roning Nongkynrih, 35 years of age was gunned by the BSF jawans at Mawshun village, Pynursla near Pomshutia, East Khasi Hills District.
As per reports, the incident happened at around 11 pm while Nongkynrih was coming back from Laitlyngkot. He was alleged of illegal transportation of cows.
Reports stated that the BSF jawans just open fire without prior warning, spraying bullets on the truck, three hit Nongkynrih in the head and neck area. After the incident, the BSF fled from the scene.
On Saturday, the body of Nongkynrih was brought to Shillong Civil Hospital to conduct the post mortem examination.
