SHILLONG, May 03: The Working President of the Meghalaya State Olympic Association, John Kharshiing expressed his unhappiness and apologised for the snag in providing proper accommodation for the athletes participating in the Meghalaya Games 2022 which was inaugurated today.
He said that the MSOA did not expect to have so many participants, and said that the association will have to learn from these mistakes and shortcomings and will rectify them for the better in the future. He said that currently the MSOA does not want to discourage the athletes and will ensure that the games go on smoothly.
The leader of the MSOA said that with regards to these shortcomings and drawbacks, the association will look into the matter and find out the snag which requires it to be rectified so that such things do not happen in the future.
As a reminder, yesterday there had been complaints from the athletes, and pictures went viral on social media of the failure of the MSOA in providing proper accommodations for the participants of the Meghalaya Games, which also forced the Chief Minister, Conrad K.Sangma to go in person to Polo to order for all necessary provisions to be arranged before the start of the mega games of the State.
