Shillong: NPP MLA from Jowai, Shri Wailadmiki Shylla, has asserted that NPP remains a strong party in Jaintia Hills even after Vincent H. Pala took over as President of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee.
While talking to media persons, Wailadmiki through an example pointed out that the Congress won only in one constituency in the region and further more in the MP election results, Pala could not garner much votes in Jaintia Hills as he could in Khasi Hills.
In response to the query if it is true that leaders like Sniawbhalang Dhar or even he himself might return or rejoin the Congress, Wailadmiki asserted that this is not true while ascertaining that NPP will continue to have a stronghold in Jaintia Hills.
