A Meghalaya-registered tourist taxi was reportedly harassed by individuals suspected to be Assam tourist drivers, simply for displaying a black flag. The incident occurred at the Assam side of Khanapara, where the assailants recorded a video questioning the reason behind the black flag and demanded its removal, stating that such a flag was not allowed in Assam.
The Khasi driver of the tourist taxi responded politely and calmly to the situation, eventually removing the black flag as requested.
It is important to note that the All Khasi Meghalaya Tourist Taxi Association has been staging a black flag protest since September 9, demanding the Meghalaya government enforce stricter regulations on Assam tourist vehicles entering tourist spots in Meghalaya.
