Meghalaya Assembly Speaker Thomas A Sangma has assured that the construction of the new Assembly building at Mawdiangdiang is progressing smoothly and cautiously to avoid any structural issues.
Speaking today, the Speaker emphasized that the mistakes of the past, such as the collapse of the dome, will not be repeated. “We don’t want to see another collapse,” he said, adding that quality and safety are being prioritized, even if it means the construction takes longer.
The High Power Committee is set to meet on December 4 to review the progress of the project and ensure all measures are on track.
