Shillong: Following the crash of the Congress party with the exit of the 12 MLAs under the leadership of Dr.Mukul Sangma, the time is opportune and the season is perhaps most favorable in the upcoming Assembly Election in the state for a leader to emerge now from the Khasi-Jaintia Hills.
On this matter, t7 got a chance to speak with Bindo M.Lanong, Chief Advisor of the United Democratic Party who feels the time is ripe.
However, as a veteran politician, Lanong said that it is not certain what the political scene will be like in Garo Hills as there are already three to four parties and with the fall of the Congress party and the TMC emerging, followed by the new group of the Congress party formed when the leaders chose to go their own separate way.
From his observations, Bindo M.Lanong found that the Congress which used to have a stronghold in Garo Hills but now as it is in pieces, the time is opportune to for the UDP to form a government and have leaders from the Khasi and Jaiñtia Hills.
However, with the fragmentation of the youths, who know where the future will lead.
