Mawlai MDC Teiborlang Pathaw has publicly apologized to the people of Mawlai for his decision to join the National People’s Party (NPP) in 2023, acknowledging that it had caused disappointment among the people of Mawlai.
Speaking after the filing of his nomination papers, Pathaw admitted that his decision to contest the MLA election under the NPP ticket had upset the people of Mawlai. However, he clarified that he is no longer associated with the party, having resigned from both his position and membership.
Now contesting as an independent candidate in the upcoming MDC election, Pathaw stated that he has chosen the Mawbynna (monolith) symbol to represent his vision of strengthening the village and Dorbar Shnongs in Mawlai Constituency.
