SHILLONG, April 11:The Police Department is very much concerned about the emergence of the outfit called ‘Lawei ba Phyrnai’ especially after they threatened to plant bombs.
The Special Director General of Police of Meghalaya, Idashisha Nongrang said that the police have filed a suo moto FIR, and the investigation process is ongoing, but has refused to divulged much in connection with the investigation.
She said that the police have strengthened security forces all over especially in places where the outfit has threatened to plant bombs. On being asked about this matter, the police chief said that the police has not been able to arrest any member of this outfit.
It may be pointed here that one outfit calling itself, ‘Lawei ba Phyrnai’ sent an email to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya on the 1st and on the 7th of this month, and in the emails sent also to the media agencies, this outfit which claimed to have 37 members has also threaten to start planting bombs from the 1st of May.
