The state government has announced plans to establish 15 additional rehabilitation centres for drug addicts by 2025.
Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh made the announcement on Monday, stating that the government ongoing support for rehabilitation centres operated by churches and private institutions, noting that funding has been provided either partially or fully.
While acknowledging the progress made, Lyngdoh stressed that more work is needed to tackle the growing issue of drug addiction and the government remains committed to expanding rehabilitation efforts.
