Shillong College Dominates 12th Inter-College Karate Tournament 2025

SHILLONG: Shillong College emerged as the overall champion of the 12th Inter-College Karate Tournament 2025 organised by the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association (AMKA), sweeping victories across all four competition categories.

The tournament, supported by the Sports Development Cell of Shillong College and the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, served as part of AMKA’s talent scouting programme for the upcoming 39th National Games 2027 to be hosted in Meghalaya.

Principal Dr. S. Khongwir graced the closing ceremony as chief guest, alongside MSOA General Secretary Finely Lad Pariat as guest of honour.

Shillong College’s winners included Gideon Tympuiñ (men’s open kata), Cheltis Shylla (men’s open kumite), and Rebeka Nongspung, who clinched both the women’s open kata and kumite titles.

St. Anthony’s College secured one silver and four bronze medals in the men’s events, while St. Mary’s College and Lady Keane College each bagged a silver and a bronze in the women’s kata category.
