SHILLONG,July 07: The United Democratic Party has demanded the President of the BJP and also the Chief Minister of Meghalaya to take action against Sanbor Shullai who censured the speech of the President of the UDP,Metbah Lyngdoh at the meeting called during the visit of the Presidential candidate of the NDA which was held yesterday in Orchid, Umïam.
The General Secretary of the UDP, Jemino Mawthoh informed that the party called an emergency meeting on this action of Sanbor Shullai who is a Minister and MLA of the BJP, while also strongly condemning the act and demanding the Chief Minister and the BJP to take action against this MLA who insulted the President of the UDP who is also the Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, which has affected the prestige of the State.
As per the statement of the UDP leader, Sanbor Shullai insulted Metbah Lyngdoh by censuring him during his speech on issues affecting the State and it’s citizens, especially with regards to the oppression of the minorities and Christians and also while he was speaking on the need of the State to include the Khasi and Garo language in the 8th Schedule and to implement the ILP.
