Shillong: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Bah Winston Tony Lyngdoh, said the relationship between the Executive Committee (EC) led by the VPP and the MDA government under the NPP has been neither particularly good nor bad over the past six months.
On collaboration, the CEM stated that both the State Government and KHADC are trying to work together with a common understanding on issues. He informed that the EC has urged the State Government to release the Council’s share of funds in a timely manner.
When pressed further, Bah Tony clarified that the Voice of the People Party (VPP) does not accept the State Government’s proposal for the latter to directly pay the salaries of Council employees, a position that has already been communicated to the committee set up by the Government.
