Mawryngkneng MLA, Heavingstone Kharpran, has brought attention to the case of a missing resident, Kestarbok Kharbuli, from Sohryngkham, who has been untraceable since November last year.
Raising the issue through a Call Attention motion in the Assembly on Monday, Kharpran urged the police to intensify efforts to locate Kharbuli and provide hope to his distressed family.
In response, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed the House that Kharbuli went missing on November 23, 2024. Since then, the police have launched a search operation and circulated information across various law enforcement agencies in India. However, there have been no leads so far.
Tynsong assured that the police remain committed to the investigation and will continue efforts to locate the missing individual.
