Jowai: The Durga Puja festivities concluded in Jowai with the Vijaya Dashami celebrations, marked by the immersion of deities in the Pohkhyllem section of Wah Myntdu.
Following the immersion of the idols, the Durga Puja Committee, concerned about protecting the Wah Myntdu and the surrounding environment, organized a clean-up of the river on Monday.
The committee’s president, Soumitra Chakravarty, stated that the idols, once retrieved for cleaning, would be taken back to the Shiv Mandir for safekeeping.
