Shillong: The Meghalaya Football Association has announced that the 2026 inter-district transfer process for football players will begin from March 16, according to MFA General Secretary Sunesh Syiem.
Informing about the schedule, Syiem said that transfer forms will be available for sale from March 16 at the premises of the Shillong Sports Association located at Polo Ground Shillong.
The forms will be distributed daily between 2 pm and 5 pm at the venue.
The signing and processing of transfers will take place later between March 23 and March 31, also at the Shillong Sports Association premises and during the same time period.
Officials have advised clubs and players to ensure that all necessary documents and formalities are completed within the stipulated time frame.
The MFA has clearly stated that no transfer applications will be entertained after the closing date, urging clubs to adhere strictly to the deadline to avoid complications in player registrations for the upcoming football season.
The inter-district transfer window is an important process within Meghalaya’s football structure, allowing players to change their district affiliations and represent different clubs in district and state-level competitions organised under the Meghalaya Football Association.
