SHILLONG, January 28: BJP MLA from Pynthorumkhrah, Alexander Laloo Hek has strongly criticised the State Government for its inability to arrest or prosecute the people involved in the attacks on people from other communities which has brought much ill-repute to the state and also brought about a feeling of communal differences amongst citizens.
Today, the 28th of January, Hek who is also the National Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), along with Shiladitya Dev, Chairman of the Linguist Minority Board, Government of Assam met with the Governor of Meghalaya,Satya Pal Malik to raise a complaint on the recent atrocious incidents in Shillong city.
Hek said that such incidents have brought ill-repute for the local residents of the State while stating that the local residents should not engage themselves with a feeling of communal difference but must must continue to garner mutual love for peace and harmony but yet, there are a few who take advantage and the Government has not taken any action against the miscreants which they strongly condemn.
Hek who is also a former Minister in the MDA Government has strongly criticised the Government of which the BJP is also a partner by stating that the Government has not taken any action and the miscreants are roaming free till now, while adding that in every such incident, not even one person has been arrested. He said that it cannot be accepted that the actions of a few evil minded people should make the whole community and society appear as ugly and unpleasant.
The BJP leader has said that in the meeting with the Governor, the Governor has assured that he shall talk about the matter with the Chief Minister of Meghalaya as well as the Union Home Minister,Amit Shah to take some action and discourage people from taking any advantage which can discredit the local residents.
