Congress Signals Possible Bye-Election in Nongstoiñ if Party Wins Legal Battle

HEADLINES

Nongstoiñ: During a public meeting held by the Congress Party in Nongstoiñ, the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President, Vincent H. Pala, indicated that a bye-election in Nongstoiñ might be on the horizon. This comes after the Congress filed a legal case against three of its former MLAs—Gabriel Wahlang (Nongstoiñ), Charles Marngar (Mawhati), and Celestine Lyngdoh—who had defected from the party. Pala expressed confidence in winning the case, which could lead to a bye-election in the Nongstoiñ constituency.

Also present at the meeting were Mylliem MLA Ronnie Nonglait, District Congress Committee West Khasi Hills President Bormanding Nonglang, Nongstoiñ Block Congress Committee President Eric Kharsyntiew, and other party leaders. The meeting was held at the Market Complex in New Nongstoiñ.
