The Assam Government suddenly began erecting its boundary stones in a few villages which fall unde Meghalaya in Langpih area, and these stones were found by the local residents of the area on Saturday.
This was confirmed by a face to face meeting of K.P Pangngiang, Member of the Regional Committee on Border Dispute who is also the former MLA of Rambrai-Jyrngam constituency.
Pangngiang also showed a few pictures of the boundary stones erected by Assam Government on which was inscribed Assam Survey 2021-2022.
A few civil society organisations from West Khasi Hills District on hearing about this incident immediately rushed to the area along with officials from the Office of the Syiem of Hima Nongmynsaw Syiemship.
