Police are investigating whether the vandalism of a vehicle belonging to Pastor Macdonald Pyngrope is linked to an alleged church fund misuse case involving crores of rupees.
According to Vivek Syiem, the incident took place on Sunday evening while the pastor’s vehicle was parked near Wahunkhrah in the Lawmali Pyllun area.
The SP said police received a zero FIR from Pastor Macdonald alleging that his vehicle was damaged around 9 PM. The case has now been taken up by Sadar Police Station for investigation.
Police are also examining whether the incident has any connection with earlier FIRs filed by the pastor regarding alleged misappropriation of funds belonging to Mawkhar Presbyterian Church amounting to around ₹4 crore.
Investigations into both matters are currently underway.
