DRL Nonglait has accepted the offer from the National People’s Party (NPP) to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha by-election from the Shillong Parliamentary constituency.
In a letter addressed to the party president, Dr. Nonglait stated that after careful consideration, he decided to accept the party’s trust and responsibility to contest the election for the welfare of the people, the state, and the country.
According to sources, the NPP is likely to officially announce his candidature during the party’s public meeting in Shillong on Thursday.
Recently, a delegation of NPP leaders led by Hamletson Dohling had met Dr. Nonglait to offer him the party ticket for the parliamentary by-election.
