Lahkmen Rymbui, Education Minister of Meghalaya, attended the platinum jubilee celebration of RCLP School Kyndong Tuber in West Jaiñtia Hills, marking 75 years of the institution’s journey.

The event was also attended by Brightstarwell Marbaniang, MLA of Mawlai, along with church leaders, community members, alumni, parents, and students.

Addressing the gathering, Rymbui paid tribute to the founders and highlighted concerns over student dropout rates in rural areas, noting that financial assistance schemes introduced under Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma aim to support students. He urged beneficiaries to avail scholarships and assured that the school’s infrastructure concerns would be examined.

He also informed that government schools are being equipped with essential facilities, including kitchen sheds and toilets, and that nearby schools are expected to benefit soon.

The programme featured a march past, cultural presentations, and an award ceremony where prizes were distributed to students. The celebration highlighted the school’s legacy and its contribution to education in the region.
