Shillong: Shillong Lajong FC produced a spirited comeback to defeat Real Kashmir FC 2–1 in their Indian Football League 2025–26 match at the SSA Stadium on Sunday evening.
The visitors took the lead in the 20th minute when Seiminlen Haokip found the net for Real Kashmir.
However, Lajong responded strongly before halftime as Phrangki Buam scored a powerful equaliser in the 40th minute, bringing the home side level and energising the crowd.
Carrying that momentum into the second half, Lajong continued to press forward and completed the comeback in the 57th minute when captain Kenstar Kharshong headed home the decisive goal.
The Reds showed resilience in the closing stages to hold off Real Kashmir and secure a hard-fought 2–1 victory, earning their first full three points of the season.
With the win, Shillong Lajong climb to second place in the league table with four points from two matches.
Lajong will next face Diamond Harbour FC in their upcoming home fixture on March 14 at 6:30 PM at SSA Stadium, Polo Ground.
