Two individuals were arrested near Thomas Jones College in Jowai and seized 5.1 grams of heroin and ₹31,730 cash from their possession.
The suspects, identified as Sdangki Myrphet (35), son of Scientist Rymbai, and Wandao Bareh (42), son of Delingson Nonghuloo, both residents of Panaliar, were observed moving suspiciously during routine police patrolling at around 7:30 pm on Thursday afternoon.
Upon being questioned by the Jowai Police team, it was suspected that the duo was involved in the illegal sale of substances. A subsequent search revealed 5.1 grams of heroin, along with Rs. 31,730 in cash.
The two were taken to Jowai Police station for further investigation.
