SHILLONG, July 14: The MLA of West Shillong constituency, Mohendro Rapsang expressed his opposition to the aim of the Government to relocate the residents of Them Ïew Mawlong to Mawbah near the Reid Provincial Chest(TB) Hospital, which falls under West Shillong.
He informed that he had received information about the aim of the Government and from the beginning he had gone and met the Deputy Chief Minister who is the Chairman of the High Level Committee, Prestone Tynsong, and after the news of this aim emerged again he will speak with the Deputy Chief Minister again to oppose once again.
The State Government on Wednesday in the High Court informed that it has completed the blueprint for the construction of a flat system building in a plot which is 3 acres in size in Mawbah for the relocation of residents from Them Ïew Mawlong.
On this matter, Rapsang said that he had also already spoken with the traditional local administrators who have expressed the same opposition on the basis that the area is already congested, and to bring one more colony is not feasible, and the second is the plot on which construction is proposed is near a hospital for the treatment of the sick and should not be cramped by residents.
