Mawkyrwat, July 07: The Inter-School Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament 2022 organised by the office of the District Sports Officer (DSO), South West Khasi Hills District concluded today the 7th of July with Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar,MLA who is also a Minister in the State Government as the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of the football tournament which was held at the MDSA Artificial Turf Ground Mawkyrwat,SWKHD.
As a reminder the Inter-School Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament 2022 began on the 27th of June and ended today the 7th of July with 24 schools and 41 teams participating in the boys and girls category of Under-17 and Under-14.
In this tournament, the Under-17 Girls category the winning trophy was won by the Lyngdoh Wanñiang Secondary School by 2-1 against Rangthong Christian Higher Secondary School and in the Under-14 Boys category, the winners were Jakrem Presbyterian Higher Secondary School which defeated Mawlieh Upper Primary School by 4-3 through a tie-breaker. In the Under-17 Boys category, Balang Mawlangwir Higher Secondary School won against Mawjaraiñ Presbyterian Higher Secondary School by 2-0.
On this concluding day besides Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar were also present Damang Syngkon,DSO South West Khasi Hills District, B.J Laloo, S.P South West Khasi Hills District, the teachers of the participating schools, government officers and other senior members of the area along with the students and the spectators who watched and enlivened the closing day of the Subroto Mukherjee Cup 2022 Mawkyrwat.
