The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) has just launched a powerful campaign on the 16th October 2024, at the Indian Youth Congress Headquarters, Delhi, called “Naukri Do, Nasha Nahi” to tackle the pressing issue of drug abuse among young people. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and its impact on youths.
On the occasion, the President of the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress, Adrian Chyne Mylliem, addressed the gathering and highlighted the growing frustration among young people regarding the government’s inaction on two critical issues: the drug epidemic and job scarcity. This sentiment is echoed by the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), which has been vocal about addressing these concerns.
The campaign’s name, “Naukri Do, Nasha Nahi,” translates to “Jobs, Not Intoxication” (“Ai ka kam ym ka jingbuaid”) highlighting the organization’s focus on addressing the root causes of drug abuse, including unemployment and lack of opportunities.

The Key Objectives of the campaign are: –
– Raise Awareness: Educate youngsters about the risks and consequences of drug abuse
– Promote Employment: Advocate for job creation and opportunities to engage youth
– Empower Youth: Encourage participation in the policy-making process and decision-making
