Students’ Health Deteriorates Amid NEHU Hunger Strike: Doctor

HEADLINES

The health of NEHU students on hunger strike has worsened significantly, prompting serious concerns from medical professionals. Dr. Carol Mukhim, who has been monitoring the situation, revealed that many students have fallen critically ill after over a week of continuous fasting.

Dr. Mukhim advised the students to temporarily suspend their hunger strike to recover their health, suggesting they could resume later if investigations fail to address their grievances. “It is advisable for the students to regain their strength first, as continuing the strike could severely impact their health,” she said.

She also noted that daily, some students require urgent medical attention and hospitalization, warning that prolonging the protest in its current form could lead to severe health complications.

The ongoing strike has highlighted the need for immediate intervention to prevent further deterioration of the students’ well-being.
