SHILLONG, Sept 16: Shillong Airport will celebrate Yatri Sewa Diwas on September 17, 2025, with a host of cultural programmes and passenger-friendly initiatives aimed at enhancing the travel experience.
Arriving passengers will be greeted with flowers and traditional hospitality, while a local troupe will perform Ka Shad Synrai folk dance at the terminal to showcase Meghalaya’s rich cultural heritage.
On the occasion, several new facilities will be inaugurated — a Kids Zone, a Library, a Workstation Zone for professionals, and AVSAR, a dedicated outlet for artisans to exhibit and sell local crafts.
Passengers can also participate in quiz and painting competitions, while a free health check-up counter and a blood donation camp will be set up in collaboration with health authorities.
The Airports Authority of India said the celebrations reflect Shillong Airport’s commitment to improving passenger services and promoting community engagement.
