Shillong: The East Khasi Hills Police have identified multiple suspects in connection with the killing of a 7-year-old boy in Lum Myrboh, Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem, said on Monday.
Describing the case as highly sensitive and complex, the SP said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been tasked with the probe and is actively examining all angles.
The police have already received the post-mortem report, while the forensic analysis report is awaited to help establish further clarity on the circumstances leading to the child’s death.
Syiem declined to reveal details at this stage but confirmed that several individuals are presently under police scanner on suspicion of involvement.
The SIT is continuing its investigation to determine who is directly responsible for the death of the child, he said.
