Mawkyrwat, January 4, 2025: Prof. Lakhon Kma formally inaugurated a new organisation called the Mawkyrwat Socio-Economic & People Development Forum (MSEPDF) during a ceremony held at the Women Hostel in Mawlangwir. The theme for the event was “Help One Another and Trust in God.”
The event saw the appointment of key office bearers for the organisation. Bah Daros Ramsiej was named President, with Bah Brightstar Wanniang as General Secretary. For the Women’s Wing, Kong Ibanrilang Ïawphniaw was elected President, and Kong Bahuntngenlang Ïawphniaw as General Secretary. Leaders and members from various localities were also inducted into the organisational structure.
During the inauguration, Prof. Kma shared words of encouragement and offered his blessings to the leaders and members of the newly formed organisation. He urged them to work with dedication and purpose for the betterment of society.
Speaking at the event, Bah Daros Ramsiej, President of MSEPDF, stated that the organisation aims to focus on promoting socio-economic development within South West Khasi Hills District. He highlighted the need to address issues faced by the community and work collectively to bring about progress and assist those in need across the district.
The formation of MSEPDF marks a significant step in fostering development and providing support to those in distress, aiming to uplift the lives of people in the region.
