Shillong: The POCSO Court today the 28th of March,2022 sentenced the Police Officer convicted of raping two sisters in the Police Station in South West Garo Hills District.

Speaking with media persons, Evalarisha Rynjah, Special Public Prosecutor,POCSO Court said that the Police Officer,Nurul Islam convicted of rape has been sentenced with life imprisonment and a fine of ₹8 lakhs.

It may be reminded that Islam was accused of raping two sisters,14 years and 17 years of age in Ampati Police Station on the 13th and 14th of March,2013.
