Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People’s Party (NPP) National President Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday campaigned in Nongstoin, urging voters not to be misled by opposition parties’ false claims.
He asserted that those making baseless allegations would disappear along with their promises once the elections are over.
Sangma visited Nongstoin to rally support for NPP candidate Dressar Marngar, who is contesting the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) elections scheduled for February 21. Addressing a public gathering, he warned voters against being swayed by misinformation spread by political opponents.
“During elections, there will be many accusations, but once the polls are over, people will once again focus on development, livelihoods, and the support they truly need,” he stated. He emphasized that only the NPP is capable of delivering the necessary development and progress for the people.
Highlighting his party’s commitment to public welfare, Sangma remarked, “Many will make promises during elections, but the NPP stands firm in its dedication to serving the people and driving development.”
He further urged voters to ignore baseless allegations, stating, “Why pay attention to unfounded claims when, after the elections, those making them will disappear along with their promises?”
