No Evidence of Coal Miners’ Deaths in EJH, Says Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong

HEADLINES

Shillong: Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong has dismissed reports claiming that three coal labourers died in a rat-hole mine collapse at Thangsko in East Jaintia Hills.

Tynsong said he has instructed district authorities to verify the rumours, but as of now, no such incident has been reported.
According to unverified inputs, an illegal coal mine had allegedly collapsed last week, leading to speculation about possible fatalities.

Tynsong reiterated that the government does not endorse any illegal activities, including unlawful coal mining, and continues to monitor the situation closely.
