Shillong: Anticipating large public gatherings in Police Bazaar on New Year’s Eve, Shillong Traffic Police (STP) will impose a No Entry restriction for all vehicles heading towards Police Bazaar from 5:00 PM onwards on 31 December 2025. The move aims to reduce congestion and ensure public safety.
Vehicular traffic will be diverted at Kachari Point towards Raj Bhawan junction and at Umsohsun junction (GS Road) towards Boucher Road and Motphran. Parking will be permitted on only one side of the road from Centenary junction to Rap’s Mansion junction and from Pinewood junction to Botanical Garden junction.
Citizens have been advised to plan their travel accordingly. Only emergency service vehicles will be allowed to operate in the restricted zone and will be facilitated by the police.
