Shillong: The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills has announced the temporary night-time closure of the road from 5th Mile Junction to the Air Force Station Gate, Shillong Peak, to facilitate construction under the Shillong–Dawki Road Project.
The stretch will remain closed from 10 pm to 6 am between November 29 and December 1, 2025.
During these hours, movement will be restricted, with only emergency services and authorised service vehicles allowed to pass.
The notice said that the executing agency will put in place safety measures, including barricades and warning signage, throughout the closure period.
Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and extend cooperation to traffic authorities.
