The MP of Tura, Saleng A. Sangma has raised concerns over the government’s rules on students scholarship stating that these regulations, including the requirement to file an affidavit and seek legal assistance, have created difficulties for students, particularly those from rural areas.
Many students, according to Sangma, are unable to access sufficient information, leading to issues in obtaining the scholarship.
Speaking on Tuesday , Sangma asserted the need for the government to reconsider these requirements, noting the challenges they pose for students without proper legal guidance. He also revealed that he had written to the Union Minister, urging the government to lift the deadline restrictions on scholarship applications. Sangma believes that students should be allowed to apply for scholarships at any time, as the lack of timely information often prevents them from doing so.
He further called on the government to ensure that comprehensive information is provided to students, enabling them to make the necessary applications with ease and benefit fully from available schemes.
