Nongthymmai MLA, Charles Pyngrope has called on the Meghalaya government to take decisive action in combating youth drug addiction by establishing drug treatment centers in every district.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Legislative Assembly today held a meeting in regard to the menace of drugs.
Pyngrope emphasized that the government must take direct responsibility rather than relying solely on non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
He urged the state to set up its own treatment centers and ensure stringent oversight of funds allocated to groups handling addiction recovery programs.
