Shillong, April 15, 2025: Meghalaya Cabinet Minister A.L. Hek has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Pope Francis, joining global leaders and faith communities in mourning the loss of the beloved pontiff.
In his condolence message, Hek said he was deeply saddened by the passing of the Holy Father, describing him as a beacon of faith, compassion, and humility who inspired millions around the world.
“I offer my heartfelt prayers for the eternal repose of Pope Francis. May the Lord grant him everlasting peace and reward him for his service to humanity and the Church,” Hek stated.
Pope Francis, who led the Catholic Church from 2013 to 2025, passed away on Monday at the age of 87. Tributes have been pouring in globally, celebrating his legacy of inclusion, dialogue, and care for the marginalized.
