Shillong: Meghalaya collected ₹121.88 crore in royalty from mining leases in 2024–25, slightly higher than ₹118.07 crore in 2023–24, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma informed the Assembly on Monday.
Revenue from cement companies through State GST stood at ₹49.16 crore in 2024–25, compared to ₹51.50 crore the previous year.
Sangma said local employment in the state’s 10 cement companies stands at 74.25 per cent.
Among major contributors, Lafarge Umiam Mining Pvt Ltd paid ₹30.08 crore in royalty in 2024–25, up from ₹29 crore in 2023–24. The company, registered under the Companies Act, 1956, pays royalty and cess on limestone exported to Bangladesh.
