Meghalaya Dominate With 11-0 Win Over Andhra Pradesh in Sub-Junior Nationals

Shillong/Narainpur: Meghalaya continued their stunning run in the Sub-Junior Boys National Football Championship 2025-26 (Tier 2), crushing Andhra Pradesh 11-0 in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, on Tuesday morning.

Under coach Dapmon Tariang, Meghalaya now sit comfortably on top of Group C with 6 points from two matches, following their earlier 6-1 victory over hosts Chhattisgarh. Only the group winners will advance to the semifinals, making this perfect start crucial.

Star forward Marbiang Marwein delivered a sensational four-goal performance, scoring in the 2nd, 24th, 44th and 45th minutes. With today’s goals, he now has six in the tournament and was named Player of the Match.

Meghalaya’s goal fest also saw contributions from Iaishanborlang Khongjee (9’), Damebandon Mawkhroh (16’), Wanpyndapbor Nongsiej (35’), Shiborlang Dkhar (59’, 66’), Davidson L Marshilong (81’) and Ferdinand Kharkrang (85’).

Meghalaya will play their final Group C match against Himachal Pradesh on Thursday at 8:30 AM, where another positive result could secure their place in the last four.
