A 47-year-old man lost his life in a tragic road accident in South West Garo Hills in the early hours today.
According to police, Rongram Outpost received information at around 4:00 AM that Morning Ch. Sangma (47), son of Polindro Ch. Sangma of Arakgittim, Mahendraganj, had met with an accident at Tosekgre village.
Preliminary reports indicate that while reversing his vehicle (ML 08 K 0519), the car went off the road and plunged down a hillside. Local residents and responders pulled him out of the vehicle and rushed him to Tura Civil Hospital in an ambulance. However, doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have initiated an enquiry to ascertain the exact cause of the incident. A post-mortem examination is being conducted.
