Shillong, January 24, 2026: Lumparing SC were crowned champions of the SSA Women’s Football League 2025–26 after a commanding 3–1 victory over Laitkor SC in the final played at the SSA Ground on Friday.
The final, which kicked off at 2:00 PM, witnessed an exciting contest as Lumparing SC took early control of the match. Pynhun Shulet emerged as the star performer, scoring a brilliant hat-trick with goals in the 18th, 25th and 60th minutes to seal the title for her side.
Laitkor SC managed to pull one goal back in the 22nd minute through T. Rympei, briefly raising hopes of a comeback. However, Lumparing SC maintained their dominance in midfield and defence, denying Laitkor any further scoring opportunities.
With this victory, Lumparing SC finished the season as champions of the SSA Women’s Football League 2025–26, capping off an impressive campaign marked by consistency and attacking flair.
The league also saw several standout individual performances, which were recognised with awards at the conclusion of the tournament. Catherine Kharkongor of Lumparing SC claimed both the Top Scorer award with seven goals and the prestigious Best Player of the Tournament honour. Pynhun Shulet was named Best Player of the Final for her decisive hat-trick performance.
Other award winners included Badarisha Kharumnuid of PFR FA as Best Defender, Bahunlang Synrem of Lumparing SC as Best Midfielder, and Phibanda Mary Nongrum of PFR FA as Best Promising Player. Rangdajied United FC received the Best Discipline Team award, while Priyanka Latang was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper of the league.
The SSA Women’s Football League once again showcased the growing depth of women’s football in Shillong, highlighting emerging talent and the rising competitive standards across clubs.
