Shillong, 26 November 2024: Lakmé Academy Powered by Aptech, one of the leading
beauty training institutes in India, is delighted to announce and congratulate its student, Ms.
Naphisabet Jana, for her remarkable achievement of winning the 48-hour filmmaking
challenge at the 55th International Film Festival 2024 Goa, organised by the National Film
Development Corporation (NFDC), under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting
(MoI&B).
The Creative Minds of Tomorrow competition celebrates the brightest young talent across
the nation, and the student’s selection underscores the academy’s commitment to providing
opportunities to excel. This year, 100 candidates were selected for the programme, each
specializing in 13 trades (Direction, Acting, Hair & Makeup, Editing and more) essential to
the film making. These 100 participants were divided into 5 groups to participate in a 48-hr
filmmaking challenge.
As part of CMOT, Ms. Naphisabet was involved in beauty and grooming for IFFI & CMOT’s
leading artists, assisting them on-ground for theatrical makeup, providing her hands-on
experience in the world of fashion & beauty while still being a student of the academy. In the
challenge, she won the hair & makeup competition, along with her team, winning INR 5
Lacs as prize money.
Speaking about the achievement, Ms. Naphisabet Jana shares, “I am extremely happy to
win the Hair & Makeup 48 Hour challenge at this globally renowned International Film
Festival of India (IFFI) and I’m honoured to be a part of Creative Minds of Tomorrow
(CMOT). This opportunity to experience and try my hand at theatrical beauty in a real, live
setting is huge. I express my gratitude to Lakmé Academy Powered by Aptech for providing
me this opportunity, and to our faculty who genuinely invest in us to ensure we are industryready professionals. I am excited to learn from this experience as I work with professionals
and stars from national and international fields. Theatrical beauty is something I have been
passionate about, and I’m sure this experience will help me learn the craft better so I can
confidently take on what comes next!”
Mr. Sandip Weling, Chief Business Officer (Global Business Retail) at Aptech Limited
shared, “Naphisabet’s achievement makes us all at Lakmé Academy Powered by Aptech
immensely proud. We are delighted to offer our support to her on this exciting journey, and
we hope she thoroughly enjoys and immerses herself in this experience in a way that helps
